This year marks the third year of the National Science Foundation (NSF) funded program of Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) on Disinformation Detection and Analysis at Old Dominion University. Each year, eight undergraduate students are selected nationwide and conduct research projects with their mentors. The students presented their projects on July 23, 2024, concluding this year's REU program.
The ACM Conference for Reproducibility and Replicability (ACM REP) is a recently launched venue for computer and information scientists whose research covers reproducibility and replicability. It covers practical issues in computational science and data exploration, emphasizing the importance of community collaboration to adopt new methods and tackle challenges in this relatively young field. The conference is linked with the ACM Emerging Interest Group for Reproducibility and Replicability.
Having a personal website is essential for anyone in academia. An academic portfolio website allows graduate students, faculty, and researchers to showcase their work, achievements, and expertise in a professional and easily accessible manner. It serves as a dynamic resume, offering potential employers, collaborators, and students a comprehensive view of the person’s academic contributions and capabilities.
In the quest for scientific progress, the replicability crisis has become an increasingly prevalent concern. To characterize and analyze this issue in the field of natural language processing (NLP), Anya Belz, Shubham Agarwal, Anastasia Shimorina, and Ehud Reiter wrote a research review article, "A Systematic Review of Reproducibility Research in Natural Language Processing" (Belz et al., 2021).
Hello! I'm Rochana Obadage from Sri Lanka, a newly joined member of the WS-DL group. Very recently I started my journey with the Web Science and Digital Libraries (WS-DL) research group at Old Dominion University (ODU) as a PhD student under the supervision
Like sunflowers that turn towards the rising sun, we also find things that are close to our hearts to enjoy life and breathe the way we want. So like that, like climbing a mountain, enjoying the environment, running here and there in front of our eyes, we can easily enjoy the world that we miss, and we breathe in a place where we can do something to the ground that our feet are on.
